"Unfortunately, the GEL exchange rate still remains as a social issue," Giorgi Gakharia, the candidate for the PM said at the meeting with the Georgian Dream in the parliament.
According to Gakharia, rapid economic growth is needed to solve the problem.
"I can tell you that the National Bank, the Ministry of Finance and we are doing everything in macroeconomic terms, and we have enough resources to protect lari from fluctuations, but we need rapid economic growth, strong business and new jobs as soon as possible. These are the basic steps we must take to maintain the stability of lari.
Until we return to the economic indicators of 2019-2020, we will definitely stand by the socially vulnerable and other citizens in terms of the social impact of the GEL exchange rate," - said Giorgi Gakharia.
