Georgia’s National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) has revoked the natural gas distribution license of Kamari M, the company responsible for supplying gas to the so-called Mukiani Country Houses. The decision was adopted at an extraordinary meeting due to an urgent need to ensure continuous and safe gas supply to consumers.
GNERC has instructed Tbilisi Energy to provide natural gas supply and distribution services to customers previously served by Kamari M. The regulator said the gradual restoration of gas supply to consumers is already underway.
According to GNERC, the license was revoked because Kamari M failed to meet its obligation to provide consumers with continuous and reliable gas supply. The company accumulated significant debt to wholesale supplier Socar Gas Export-Import after failing to properly fulfill its contractual obligations and pay for supplied gas.
As a result of the outstanding debt, Kamari M’s natural gas supply was cut off on October 5, 2026. The company had been supplying gas to 4,572 consumers.
