A meeting of the Government Commission on Higher Education Reform was held under the leadership of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to the Government Administration, the discussion focused on the challenges facing the higher education system, including both infrastructure and education quality issues.

"The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of a fundamental transformation of the university education system in the country. The commission will soon develop a concept that will serve as the foundation for a strategy to reform higher education. According to the Prime Minister, by 2028, it will be possible to address infrastructure challenges in universities while also improving the quality of teaching and research.

During the meeting, it was noted that all available resources must be utilized to the fullest extent so that, within four years, a qualitatively renewed system is established, allowing Georgian students to receive higher education of European quality in Georgia," the Government Administration stated.
