In 2025, Georgia’s Government Efficiency Department reviewed state programs and procurement worth GEL 114.9 million, resulting in GEL 67.4 million in savings for the state budget, according to an official government report on program implementation.
The report, covering the period from June 2025 to May 2026, states that total savings generated through the work of the Government Administration, including the Government Efficiency and Market Research Departments, amounted to GEL 291.6 million.
The Government Efficiency Department, established in June 2025, is responsible for monitoring the implementation of government decisions and assessing the performance of state agencies. Its mandate includes oversight of public projects, programs, procurement processes, and compliance with government instructions.
The report also highlights the introduction of an electronic Market Research System (MRS), which allows all interested parties to participate equally in the pre-procurement stage and submit proposals.
According to the data, direct savings generated by the department since January 1, 2026, reached about GEL 67 million, while a further GEL 34 million came from procurement adjustments identified through monitoring, bringing total savings in that segment to GEL 101 million.
The Prime Minister is expected to present the government’s annual performance report to Parliament during the June 23 plenary session, although the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
