The Georgian government has significantly increased financial assistance to municipalities, adding nearly GEL 22 million to the 2025 state budget allocation. According to a new ordinance approved on July 17, total funding for municipal support has risen from the previously designated GEL 24.65 million to GEL 46.43 million.
The change amends an earlier decree from February 21, reflecting the government’s decision to enhance fiscal support for local governments across the country. The updated allocation aims to address growing infrastructure, social, and economic needs in various regions.
Among the beneficiaries, Chiatura Municipality will receive the largest share—up to GEL9.15 million. Other municipalities receiving substantial funding include Tkibuli, Baghdati, Vani, and Terjola, each allocated up to GEL2.5–2.9 million.
