The State Procurement Agency has published its 2024 activity report, which states that the total value of contracts signed last year amounted to 6,348,923,845 GEL. Of these, 156 million were the total value of state procurement contracts signed with non-resident companies, which is twice as much as the similar figure of the previous year. For reference, in 2023, the value of contracts with non-resident companies was 71 million GEL.
As for countries, according to the report of the State Procurement Agency, out of 156,107,341 GEL signed with non-resident companies, the largest share - 34,178,175 GEL and 28,874,157 GEL worth of contracts were signed with companies operating in France and Turkey, followed by Swiss companies with a contract value of over 24.7 million GEL and Hungarian companies with a contract value of over 20 million GEL.
In 2024, the value of the “Top 10” largest contracts concluded through tenders with non-resident suppliers exceeded 120 million GEL. The highest value contract was concluded in the tender announced by the Rustavi Municipality (19,850,880 GEL), in the category of procurement of motor vehicles.
In addition, the report notes that in 2024, the number of non-resident suppliers registered in the eProcurement system increased. In particular, at the end of 2024, 118 new non-resident suppliers were registered and currently a total of 2,623 non-resident suppliers from 77 countries are registered, who actively participate in the announced tenders.
