The Ministry of Finance published tax performance report for 2023. According to the document, during the last year, businesses and individuals operating in the country paid a total of GEL 17 billion in taxes, which was GEL 283 million more than the budgeted plan.
According to specific taxes, the largest amount of GEL 6.8 billion was transfered to the budget from VAT.
Tax performance is distributed as follows for 2023:
Value Added Tax - 6,793,665,800 GEL, 99.8% of the annual plan;
Income tax - 5,574,816,600 GEL, 101.6% of the annual plan;
Excise tax - 2,270,263,900 GEL, 102.3% of the annual plan;
Profit tax - 2,018,166,500 GEL, 100.9% of the annual plan;
Import tax - 151,212,000 GEL, 100.8% of the annual plan.
