Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development predicts, that 633.2 million kWh of electricity will be exported next year, which is 34.9% less compared to 2022.
This year, 972.7 million kWh of electricity has been exported, which hit a record high. Exports were active from May to September, driven largely by increased demand and prices in Turkey.
As of the 2023 forecast, electricity exports will be distributed as follows:
• May - 185 million kWh
• June - 208.4 million kWh
• July - 158.9 million kWh
• August - 81 million kWh
Next year, the Ministry of Economy assumes that the total electricity production of Georgia will be 13.719 billion kWh. Of this, 10.8 billion comes from hydroelectric power plants, while 2.82 billion - from thermal plants and 84 million kWh - from wind farms.
As for consumption, it will be 15.398 billion kWh, 1.4% more compared to 2022.
