The government has increased funding for disaster recovery across municipalities to GEL 47.98 million, according to decree No. 1311 signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. The allocation was raised by GEL 4.7 million compared to the previous decision.
The funds, drawn from the 2026 state budget’s regional development fund, will be distributed across 30 municipalities to address damage caused by natural disasters and support urgent rehabilitation works.
The largest allocations go to Lanchkhuti (GEL 7.99m), Ozurgeti (GEL 6.85m), Lagodekhi (GEL 4.85m), Sachkhere (GEL 2.78m), Zugdidi (GEl 2.41m), and Baghdati (GEL 2.4m), with additional funding distributed among other affected regions.
Smaller amounts ranging from GEL 125,000 to over GEL 2 million are assigned to several municipalities, including Kutaisi, Telavi, and Mestia, with the government stating the funds are aimed at rapid infrastructure repair and recovery following recent natural disasters.
