The large-scale progress payment construction program, the public employment program, and the country's ongoing energy projects were the key topics discussed at the meeting of the Economic Council, chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, at the Administration of the Government.

The Economic Council's members discussed the large-scale progress payment construction program. The Government offers the construction sector to attract additional financial resources through guaranteed orders and engage in the program that will ensure the implementation of projects before deadlines, on one hand, and will spur economic growth, on the other. At this point, various institutions will implement 2 billion GELs worth of work, including the construction of European-standard schools, infrastructural upgrading at facilities designated for the police and armed forces, water supply projects, and others.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the implementation of the public employment program, emphasizing that in excess of 20,000 people have expressed an interest in the program, with relevant agreements signed with them. This process is well underway.

The Economic Council also discussed the country's ongoing energy projects, including the construction of large and small HPPs. The Prime Minister was briefed about work on the energy development plan which is progressing intensively. The plan will be made public in near future.
