Gov't presents initial version of 2025 budget to Parliament

The Georgian government presented the initial version of the 2025 budget to Parliament.

According to the Finance Ministry’s press office, the next year’s budget is planned with a conservative approach, considering the following macroeconomic aspects:

“Real economic growth is expected to be 5.5%, with a medium-term prediction of 5.3%.

The nominal GDP projection is 97.4 billion GEL, with a computed GDP per capita of more than $9,600.

The 2025 consolidated budget has a total expenditure of 31.2 billion GEL, which completely covers the state’s commitments.

The budget for health care and social security programs has grown by more than 870.0 million GEL.

The funding for education and scientific programs has grown by more than 370.0 million GEL.

The funding for the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Security Service increases by more than 330 million GEL.

More than 7.0 billion GEL will be spent on infrastructure development.

Agricultural programs receive almost 630.0 million GEL, while environmental protection programs receive 240.0 million.

Employee salaries in budgeting organisations are expected to rise by 10% by 2025.
