Gov't to Expand Capital Market Support Program, Include Larger Companies – Khidureli

მიხეილ ხიდურელი

The government plans to expand the state program supporting the capital market.

According to Mikheil Khidurel, director of the “Enterprise Georgia” agency, corporate bonds worth over GEL 1 billion have already been issued under the program.

Khidureli noted that limits will be increased, allowing larger companies to participate. Changes to the program are expected this year.

“With our support, more than GEL 1 billion worth of bonds have been issued, which is unprecedented for Georgia. We plan to expand the program and increase the limits. If certain categories of companies are currently excluded, we aim to include them as well, because the results in small and medium-sized businesses have been excellent. The capital market is developing very quickly, and we want our agency to continue playing a key role,” Khidurel said.

The state capital market support program includes a co-financing component that covers part of the costs associated with issuing securities. The program is available to business entities whose total revenue in the previous fiscal year does not exceed GEL 200 million.
