Shalva Alaverdashvili, founder of the Federation of Restaurants and Hotels declares, that the tourism industry is experiencing significant loss due to the current processes, and the government is not interested in improving the conditions.

As Alaverdashvili told TV-program "Business Morning", the tourism administration's message is to silence the sector instead of being busy assisting the tourist facilities amid the events.

"The tourism industry has faced several challenges in recent years. After Gavrilov's night, the sector has ups and downs. This year, the tourism sector had a 20-25% increase from January 1. But, at this stage, bookings are canceled. As for the new bookings, they are significantly reduced for June.

What kind of law is there that the entire international community urges you not to accept, there is such a big protest wave, but you still stubbornly say that we accept it", - Alaverdashvili declares.

He cites Turkey as an example, which takes one of the leading places in the world's tourism industry. According to Alaverdashvili, the main topic there is that the tourism sector meets with the government once in 2 days and together they make future plans.

"I would like, the Georgian government to meet with the representatives of the tourism sector at least once in a few days. Our government wants to keep us silent and not hear our voices. This is their current attitude," said Alaverdashvili.
