Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze met with representatives of dialysis service providers and the “Association of Dialysis, Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation.”
The head of the agency, together with meeting participants, discussed the tariff policy for dialysis services, quality control issues, and the progress of the hemodialysis program.
The meeting also addressed the challenges in the sector and ways to overcome them.
According to the Minister, the hemodialysis funding model and tariff had remained unchanged for years, but today this tariff has been increased.
At the meeting, the parties agreed that active work with representatives of dialysis service providers will continue in the future to increase the effectiveness of the program and consider the best interests of patients.
It is noteworthy that World Kidney Day is celebrated annually on the second Thursday of March, and its purpose is to promote public awareness about kidney diseases and ways to prevent them.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Health Irakli Sasania, Tea Giorgadze, and other representatives of the ministry.
