The seasonal flu vaccination campaign has officially commenced across Georgia. According to the Ministry of Health, as part of the national immunisation programme, the country has acquired 200,000 doses of the French-made four-component vaccine, Vaxigrip Tetra (SANOFI WINTHROP INDUSTRIE), which is among the vaccines recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).
“The vaccine is specifically designed to target the strains expected to circulate during the upcoming flu season. Vaccination is especially vital for individuals with high-risk or chronic health conditions, as influenza can pose serious health threats to some people,” the Ministry of Health stated.
Vaccinations are available from the age of six months and can be administered at medical centres and polyclinics offering vaccination services. Importantly, the vaccine is provided free of charge to eligible beneficiaries.
