Georgia’s 13 ministries spent GEL 11.8 billion in the first seven months of 2026, accounting for 71% of total budget expenditures, according to a review by the Parliamentary Budget Office.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Affairs recorded the highest spending at GEL 5.5 billion, equivalent to 56.7% of its annual budget. The ministry’s total allocation for 2026 stands at GEL 9.7 billion.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth ranked second, spending GEL 1.7 billion, or 62% of its annual GEL 2.7 billion allocation. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Infrastructure, which ranks among the top three by funding, spent GEL 1.1 billion in January-July, representing 37.6% of its annual GEL 3.1 billion budget.
The spending figures show that the three ministries together accounted for the bulk of ministry-level expenditures during the first seven months of the year, with the Health Ministry alone responsible for nearly half of the GEL 11.8 billion spent.
