The Georgian Health Ministry has established an Advisory Board of Georgian physicians who are successful professionals of leading hospitals across the world, the state body announced on Thursday.
The Ministry said the Board would be involved in improving the quality and accessibility of medical services and developing mechanisms for professional development of medical personnel in the country.
Comprised of 10 doctors working in leading hospitals in Europe and the United States, the Board will share “qualified, objective” recommendations based on international experience, the Ministry said.
The Board involves:
Josif Nanobachvili, an angiologist from University Hospital Vienna, Austria;
Maia Pataraia, a neurologist from University Hospital Vienna, Austria;
Dimitri Tvildiani, a radiologist from Diagnostic Center, New York, the United States;
Tamar Kvartskhava, an epidemiologist from Flushing Hospital Medical Center, New York, the United States;
Irakli Shoshiashvili, a surgeon-traumatologist, therapist and internal medicine specialist from Ingolstadt Medical Clinic, Germany;
Ivane Chachkhiani, a venereal disease and abdominal surgeon from VAMED Mediterra Regional Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic;
Giorgi Nadiradze, a surgeon and visceral surgery specialist from University Clinic for General, Visceral, and Transplant Surgery, Tübingen, Germany;
Alexi Baidoshvili, a pathologist-anatomist from Georgian International Medical and Public Health Association, the Netherlands;
Givi Maghradze, an otolaryngologist from Freiburg University Hospital, Germany;
Sofia Natriashvili, a child and adolescent psychiatrist and neurologist from University Hospital Vienna, Austria.
