Giorgi Dolidze, Director of HSC Group Hospitality, reports that the high tourist season in Tbilisi and Batumi has effectively been extended in 2025. Speaking on BMGTV, he noted that the hotel sector in Georgia has seen significant growth during the first nine months of the year.

According to the National Tourism Administration, Georgia welcomed 4,307,094 international tourists between January and September, marking a 7.9% increase compared to 2024. Dolidze highlighted that during the traditionally low season (January-April), average hotel occupancy reached 55-60%, about 10% higher than the same period last year. From April onward, occupancy surged to 92%, a figure that has been maintained throughout the summer and early autumn.

“This shift allowed hotels to operate at high-season prices even during the extended period, boosting income over 2-3 months and supporting strong results for the entire year,” Dolidze explained. He added that the tourism market in Georgia naturally regulates prices and supply, with medium and high-class hotels sometimes referring overflow tourists to other facilities due to high demand

Regarding tourist demographics, Dolidze noted that Israel and Russia remain the leading source countries, followed by neighboring nations. The number of medium- and high-spending visitors from the Gulf countries, China, and India has also grown, largely due to new direct flights. He expressed optimism that expanding direct flights from Europe will similarly attract high-spending European tourists in the coming years.
