The historic Borjomi–Bakuriani railway, known as the “Kukushka,” will return to its route in December, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili announced at an event marking Railway Workers’ Day.
According to Kvrivishvili, rehabilitation works are nearing completion. The carriages selected specifically for the project feature a design intended to blend with Bakuriani’s natural surroundings and historical character.
The minister said the goal was not simply to renovate the train, but also to preserve the unique atmosphere and experience associated with the historic route for decades.
