Georgian honey producer Hoby is exploring opportunities to export packaged honey to Germany and Spain. Founder Mikheil Chighladze told BM.GE that the company identified a potential partner at an exhibition in Saudi Arabia who is interested in distributing Hoby’s packaged honey in the two markets.
“We have a serious potential partner from the latest exhibition in Saudi Arabia, who is very interested in taking large quantities of our packaged honey to Germany and Spain,” Chighladze said.
The companies are currently negotiating, but no agreement has been reached yet. Hoby plans to send the potential partner a presentation in the coming month, which will then be shared with representatives of retail chains in Germany and Spain.
Chighladze said the company expects to know by the end of the year whether the export plans will move forward. If successful, Germany and Spain would become new export destinations for Hoby, which is currently focused primarily on expanding domestic sales and production.
