According to official statistics, 116.5 tons of honey worth USD 403 thousand were exported to different countries. Accordingly, exports are up by 1329% compared to the same period in 2020. Last year, 3.5 tons of honey worth only USD 28.2 thousand were exported from Georgia.
In 8M2021, the main export market is the EU, where 93.7 tons of honey worth USD 305 thousand were exported. While last year and 2019 rates in this respect were almost equal to zero.
Georgia sold the largest volume of honey in France and Bulgaria during this period, although statistics show that natural honey from Georgia was sold at a higher price in France than in Bulgaria.
