Paata Kokaia, the founder of "Inn Group," stated that due to current geopolitical events, particularly the ongoing war in the Middle East and the cancellation of tourist bookings, hotel occupancy in Georgia has significantly decreased. In Gudauri, a popular winter tourism destination, hotel occupancy has dropped to only 10-15%, which is far below typical levels for this time of year.

According to Kokaia, occupancy in Tbilisi hotels has also decreased by 20-25%. Despite price reductions, the flow of tourists remains extremely low, even with increased marketing activities and media forums held in various countries.

Kokaia expressed hope that tourism from Asia and Europe could be revived, although he emphasized that factors such as aviation fuel prices and global safety concerns significantly affect tourism, not only in Georgia but also in neighboring countries like China and South Korea.

"In Gudauri, we've reduced prices three times, but still no guests are coming. In our hotels, occupancy is only 10-15%. December, January, and February were very good, but the situation changed from early March," Kokaia said.
