Despite inflation and rising prices on nearly all goods and services in Georgia, hotel room rates in Gudauri have remained unchanged for roughly 15 years. The statement comes from Giorgi Kvitsinashvili, owner of the Best Western Gudauri hotel, in an interview with BM.GE.
“Hotel room prices have been the same for the last 15 years, despite inflation and the increased cost of products and services. Supply in Gudauri exceeds demand, which keeps room rates stable. A khachapuri in a hotel restaurant might cost 40 GEL today, while 15 years ago it was 15 GEL, but room prices have not increased,” said Kvitsinashvili.
Accommodation prices in Gudauri vary depending on the type of lodging. According to Kvitsinashvili, guesthouses charge approximately $50 to $70–80 per night. Prices for three- and four-star hotels start at around $80 and typically range between $140 and $150. In five-star hotels, room rates range from $200 to $350.
The hotel owner notes that the oversupply in Gudauri during both the winter and summer seasons ensures that visitors can always find accommodation suited to different budgets.
“During the New Year period, it may be harder to find availability in certain segments, but the idea that you won’t find any room or apartment in Gudauri is impossible - you will definitely find something in at least one segment,” Kvitsinashvili added.
