The Tourism Administration reports that in the first 6M2023, 2,529,517 international visits took place in Georgia, which was almost 76% more compared to last year. The representatives of the hotels, located in Tbilisi, said that June was particularly active in terms of visitors.

Elene Otarashvili, general manager of the hotel Golden Tulip Design Tbilisi, told bm.ge that the occupancy rate of the hotel reached 80% in June.

"In June, our occupancy rate reached 80%. We expect a 70% occupancy in July and August. We expect a big increase from September again. The demand for conference spaces has become very active, which makes us very happy because business tourism was particularly affected during the pandemic," she says.

Hotel business consultant and director of HSC Group Giorgi Dolidze talks about expectations for August. As he says, they don't expect any special activity in August.

"From June 25 to July 10, we had 100% occupancy in the hotel. "Overbooking" was also recorded, which is why we sent the vacationer to other hotels.

As for the expectations, in the first half of August, we do not expect very high occupancy, we will probably have an average occupancy of 70%. From August 25 to September 10, we may have 100% of reservations," Dolidze notes.

According to official statistics, in the first and second quarters, Turkey is the leader in the number of international visitors, followed by Russia and Armenia.
