The GEL exchange rate strengthened during July 15-19. During the week, strengthening against the US dollar was 2.8 tetri, and against the euro 3.1 tetri. Several main factors have a positive influence on the strengthening of the exchange rate of the lari, including increased export revenues. According to the latest data, which reflects the exports of June, exports from Georgia amounted to 583 million dollars, which is 5.9% more than the previous year.
The number of visitors to Georgia has also increased, in the first half of 2024, a total of 3 million international visitors visited Georgia, which is 5.6% more than in the same period of the previous year.
However, remittances have the opposite trend, which decreased by 21% year-on-year to 281 million dollars in June, which is related to the reduction of migration effects in Georgia.
