The National Bank of Georgia starts preparatory works to dedicate 5-lari copper-nickel, silver and gold collector coins and announces the competition for the selection of relevant design sketches.
In 2025, Lari will date back 30 years from its introduction. On 25th of September of 1995, the Georgian National Currency - Lari were put in circulation and, from the 2nd of October of the same year, it was declared only the legal means of payment in the entire territory of Georgia.
Lari introduction was an important step in the history of our country, in respect with the formation of a politically and economically independent state governed by the principles of the market economy.
