How Much Did Business Turnover Increase In Georgia in 3Q2021?

Business sector turnover increased by 38.5% and amounted to 40.5 billion GEL in 3Q2021 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, - the preliminary data from the Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reports.

The production value of the business sector is characterized by the increasing tendency. In 3Q2021, its volume equaled to GEL 15.0 billion which is year-on-year 29.0%.

In 3Q2021, total purchases of goods and services carried out by enterprises equaled to GEL 22.0 billion (year-on-year 33.7 percent more), while the purchase goods and services for resale amounted GEL 13.7 billion (year-on-year 38.2 percent more).

In 3Q2021, the average number of persons employed equaled to 678.0 thousand, which is year-on-year 5.0% more. Out of the total number of persons employed, 42.4% are female and 57.6 percent are male.

39.6% of total number of persons employed comes on large, 22.6% – on medium and 37.8% - on small businesses. The total number of employees amounted 647.3 thousands (year-on-year 6.0% more). The total personnel costs of enterprises equaled to 2 894.1 million GEL (year-on-year 18.7% more).

In 3Q2021, average monthly remuneration of employed persons equaled to 1 455.5 GEL (year-on-year increase by 149.7 GEL) while remuneration of employed women made up 1 143.6 GEL (year-on-year increase by 145.2 GEL). Average monthly remuneration of employed persons by size of enterprises is as follows:

• LARGE BUSINESS – GEL1 484.2
• MEDIUM BUSINESS – GEL 1 703.8
• SMALL BUSINESS – GEL 1 253.7
