How Much Oil Was Transported By Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Route In June?

Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) reports, that in June, Baku-Tbilisi transported 2.5 million tons of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. This was a decrease of 100 thousand tons compared to May. In June, the exporting pipeline of the western route was still blocked.

In six months of this year, 15 million tons of oil were transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and Baku-Supsa pipelines. The Baku-Supsa oil pipeline operated only in February and 100 thousand tons of oil were transported through it. BP, the operator of the pipeline, said that the pipeline would work only if there were contracts.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is one of the important strategic objects passing through Georgia.

The Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, together with an international consortium, is responsible for managing the Georgian section of the 1,768-km-long pipeline. The body published monthly statistics on the volume of transported oil.
