In total 108.4 thousand tons of products were stored in elevators during the IV quarter of 2022, 70.5% of which was wheat, - accoridng to the National Statistics Office Of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the document, the total number of active elevators in Georgia in 4Q2022 were 39 and most of them were located in Kvemo Kartli region (25.6%), while 23.1% of active elevators were located in Tbilisi, 12.8 percent in Imereti region, 10.3 percent in Kakheti region, 10.3% in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, 10.3% in Shida Kartli, 5.1% in Guria region and 2.6% in Adjara.
In 4Q2022, the service was provided to 10 customers. The number of producers and resellers, from whom the product were purchased, was 113 persons, while the average monthly number of persons employed in cold storage facilities equaled 552.
Total amount of products sold by the elevators during 4Q2022 amounted 43.1 thousand tones (total cost – 55.8 million GEL), 65% of which was own production.
The biggest share among own production had wheat flour, which consist 88.5% of total own production sold by the elevators at the same period.
According to survey results, average daily load per storage (out of total capacity of storages in percent) amounted to 48.5% in October, 47.7% in November and 48.9% in December.
