Commercial advertising revenues of the Georgian broadcasters decreased by 12.5% in 1Q2023 compared to the previous year, amounting to GEL 15.6 million, - according to the Communications Commission.
The regulatory body responsible for broadcasting and electronic communication said commercial advertising revenues of TV and radio stations stood at GEL 17.8 million in 1Q2022, which showed that revenues were down by GEL 2.2 million this year compared to 2022.
The Communications Commission cites advertising restrictions for gambling companies as the reason for the decrease in advertising revenues.
