Georgian population pays GEL 138 million for paid TV in a year, - according to the report of the Communications Commission.
The paid TV market has 729 thousand subscribers. As of the statistics, the number of subscribers has been almost unchanged for several years, although the sector's revenues are increasing, due to the tariff growth.
"Magti" is in first place in terms of the number of subscribers, which occupies 47% of the market, followed by Silknet with a 36% share.
In 2023, the revenues of the sector by companies and the number of subscribers:
Magti - 345 thousand subscribers, income of GEL 71 million, decrease of GEL 0.2 million;
Silknet - 260 thousand subscribers, income of GEL 54 million, growth of GEL 5 million;
Akhali Kselebi - 28 thousand subscribers, income of GEL 5.3 million, increase of GEL 1.5 million;
Di+ - 43 thousand subscribers, income of GEL 5 million, growth of GEL 1.2 million.
According to the Communications Commission, one user paid an average of GEL 16.85 for this service in December 2023, in 2022 this amount made up GEL 16.5, and in 2021 - it was GEL 15.2.
As for the number of subscribers by region, the most - 317 thousand subscribers are registered in Tbilisi, 79 thousand subscribers are in Imereti, and 66 thousand subscribers - in Adjara. The broadcasting transit sector in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti has the lowest number of subscribers - 3,700.
