Giga Gigashvili, Head of Municipal Department of Environment Protection at Tbilisi City Hall declares, that the city hall will spend GEL 200 million on construction-rehabilitation of parks in Tbilisi, which includes 15 projects in total.
“Our plan is quite ambitious for the next 4 years, which provides both construction and rehabilitation of 15 city parks, 9 of which are new projects. Works in Temka ravine already started and we will complete the new city park late in 2022. We have already started working on the 2022 budget, which will outline the projects that are to be implemented next year”, - Gigashvili said.
According to him, the city hall already started works in Vake Park, which is a cultural monument. Gigashvili names other important projects, including Avchala dividing line, as well as Gldani Small Lake Park and Digomi Forest Park. He notes, that the design of Tbilisi Dendrological Park is already completed and active works will start in 2022.
"As you know, parks are not the only protection of the environment, this is a forest restoration project taking place on the areas, which have been handed over to the capital city in 2008," Gigashvili said.
