Employment portal HR.GE declares, that the number of vacancies is 3 times down comparing to the same period of the previous year and notes, that the companies are only looking for low and middle-level employees.
As Inga Shakhbaziani, the regional manager of HR.GE, told TV-Program Business Morning, the demand has increased for call center operators, couriers, IT specialists and nurses.
"April was the most critical in terms of job placement. The number of vacancies was 10 times down. However, business got active in summer, but since the end of October, when the number of infected people had increased significantly, the rate of vacancies was down significantly.
Today, 80-90 vacancies are announced daily, which is three times less comparing to the same period of the previous year.
We have a bad trend in December, a total number of published vacancies has made up less than 1,500 in total.
It is also noteworthy that if previously high, medium and low-level vacancies were published, now high-level vacancies have actually disappeared. Companies are mostly looking for consultants, cashiers, as well as representatives of the medical field. Previously, vacancies in this sector were not actually published and its share amounted to 5% of the total. However, today demand for medical staff is increased to 20%. There is also a demand for call center operators, couriers and IT professionals," Shahbaziani said.
According to the regional manager of HR.GE, the number of job seekers is also decreased. If over 100 persons have been registered on the employment portal a day before the pandemic, now their number amounts to 70.
