"I hope that this weekend will be another step towards peace, stability and economic growth," said Corina Crețu, a member of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, after meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
She said it was important for MEPs to make sure that citizens in the Eastern Partnership countries live better, that they work under democratic standards.
"I am very glad to be in Georgia again. It has been 30 years since I first visited here in 1993. I have been observing the path of democratic development of the country from the European Union. I hope that this weekend will be another step towards peace, stability, and economic growth. As you are well aware, the European Union is investing heavily in Georgia. For us MEPs, it is important to make sure that citizens in the Eastern Partnership countries live better," Corina Crețu said.
