The threat made by the Georgian Dream leader was well suited to a dictator and not a close partner of the USA, - Republican congressman Thomas Kean said at the hearing held in the US House of Representatives on the political situation in Georgia and Moldova ahead the 2024 elections.

According to the congressman, he is looking forward to how the Georgian people will respond to the actions of the government in the critically important October parliamentary elections. In addition, he added that there is hope in October, both in Georgia and in Moldova, because the people of these countries do not want to obey the wishes of the Kremlin once again.

"Many citizens of Georgia bravely and peacefully took to the streets to protest against the harmful actions of their government. Unfortunately, they were met with violent crackdown and arrests.

During the talks on the Foreign Agents bill, the leader of Georgian Dream in his speech threatened political opponents with "severe revenge", which would suit a dictator and not a close partner of the USA.

I look forward to seeing how the Georgian people will respond to such actions by the government in the critically important parliamentary elections in October.

Finally, I would like to mention that there is a place of hope in Georgia and Moldova in October. I believe that the vast majority of citizens of both countries look forward to closer relations with the United States and do not want to submit their countries to the wishes of the Kremlin once again," Keane said.
