The number of criminal prosecutions related to business and other economic activities increased sharply in June 2026, with prosecutors launching proceedings against 47 individuals, according to official statistics.
The figure represents a 261.5% increase compared with June 2025, when criminal proceedings were initiated against 13 people for similar offenses.
The most common offense in this category was illegal entrepreneurial activity, with prosecution launched against 35 individuals. The second most frequent violation involved breaches of excise marking rules, including the production, storage, sale, or transportation of excise goods without required excise stamps, with 28 cases recorded.
The statistics also show that authorities identified two cases of money laundering and two cases involving the unlawful use of trademarks or other commercial designations in June.
