In January-October 2024, 4,056 electric vehicles were imported to Georgia, which was a 2.5-fold increase year-on-year.
According to Geostat, during the period, the value of electric vehicle imports amounted to USD 78.7 million.
The data show that the average price of an electric vehicle imported into Georgia this year stood at $19.4 thousand, which is less than last year's figure - $27.4 thousand. Price decrease can be explained by the global trend since prices for electric vehicles on the secondary market fell this year.
As for the main import markets, Georgia purchased electric vehicles from the following countries:
* USA - 2,347 vehicles, $39.8 million;
* Japan - 720 vehicles, $4.8 million;
* China - 675 vehicles, $17.5 million;
* Germany - 132 cars, $8.6 million;
* United Arab Emirates - 37 cars, $962.6 thousand;
* Republic of Korea - 31 cars, $881.6 thousand;
* Belgium - 30 cars, $1.4 million;
* Sweden - 21 cars, $992.5 thousand;
* Canada - 12 cars, $568.9 thousand;
Smaller quantities of electric cars were imported from Kazakhstan (8 cars), Ukraine (8 cars), the Netherlands (8 cars) and Armenia (5 cars).
