In 2020, Georgia Bought $2.3 Million Worth of Olives

Last year, Georgia paid $ 2.3 million for the import of 1,532.2 tons of olives. It should be noted that this figure is reduced by 6.6% compared to the pre-pandemic or 2019 data.
 
According to Geostat, Georgia buys frozen or canned olives, mainly from Spain, without the addition of vinegar or acetic acid.

The list of major suppliers looks like this:

1. Spain - $ 1.7 million, 1,175.2 tons;
2. Turkey - 223.8 thousand dollars, 121.1 tons;
3. Armenia - 111 thousand dollars, 90.2 tons;
4. Hungary - 71.5 thousand dollars, 36.9 tons;
5. Greece - 54.5 thousand dollars, 25.5 tons;
6. Egypt - 48.1 thousand dollars, 57.9 tons;
7. Italy - 20.1 thousand dollars, 5.9 tons;
8. Germany - 10.4 thousand dollars, 6 tons;
9. France - 10.1 thousand dollars, 3 tons;
10. Ukraine - 1.9 thousand dollars, 1 ton.
 
In January-April 2021, 304.6 tons of olives worth 513 thousand dollars were imported to Georgia. 18.5 tons of products worth 29.9 thousand dollars were exported.
 
It should be noted that last year 108.3 tons of olives worth 149.0 thousand dollars were exported from Georgia only to Armenia, and in 2019 the value of olives sold from Georgia amounted to 0.6 thousand dollars. In 2018, we sold 30.5 tons of olives for 41.8 thousand dollars in Armenia and Iran.
