In Armenia shadow turnover amounting to approximately $170 million was detected

The Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia conducted 1177 operational and investigative activities from January to April 2024, revealing shadow turnover totaling about 65.7 billion Armenian drams (approximately $170 million).

According to the State Revenue Committee (SRC), approximately 18.6 billion Armenian drams (about $48 million) were returned to the state budget, which is 7.4 billion drams (over $19 million) or 66% more than the same period last year.

The damage inflicted on the state amounted to about 25.4 billion Armenian drams (over $65 million). As a result of these activities, 125 criminal cases were initiated.

According to the State Revenue Committee's data, tax revenues to the state budget from January to May 2024 amounted to 984.1 billion Armenian drams (over $2.5 billion), which is higher than the corresponding figure in 2023 (912.2 billion drams - over $2.3 billion).
