In December 2023, the registration of companies by foreigners decreased by 40% - the head of the National Statistics Service, Gogita Todradze, announced this while presenting the 2023 GDP growth report.
According to the report, in December 2023, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the real gross domestic product (GDP) growth was 8.3%, and the average real growth for 2023 was determined at 7%.
"In December last year, 5,140 enterprises were registered in the country. The mentioned figure is about a 20% decrease compared to the same period of 2022. The decrease mainly comes from foreign private individuals. Regarding the decrease in the registration of entrepreneurs, the mentioned figure has been reduced by over 40%," Todradze said.
