In Armenia, during January-February 2024 economic activity increased by 13.6% compared to the same period last year. In February alone, this figure rose by an additional 16.3%.
According to operational data published by the statistical committee, key factors contributing to the increase in economic activity in January-February were the following sectors: industry grew by approximately 29% (in February - by 36.4%), trade turnover increased by 24.1% (in February - by 28.3%), and construction saw growth of 10.8% (in February - 11.7%).
The slowing growth in the service sector influenced the overall indicator: in January-February 2024, this sector grew by 5.2%, while in February alone, it increased by 6%.
Electricity production in the republic decreased by approximately 5% over the first two months. Nevertheless, the statistical committee specifies that this figure does not include electricity produced by autonomous producers.
