GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Gary Jones, BP’s Regional President for Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, to review ongoing cooperation and future prospects between the company and Georgia.
According to the Government Administration, discussions highlighted BP’s role as one of the largest investors in Georgia, contributing significantly to job creation and the implementation of investment programs in the public sector.
The meeting emphasized the strategic importance of BP’s projects in Georgia, including the three major oil and gas transit pipelines that pass through the country, the Baku-Supsa pipeline, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. Particular attention was given to the South Caucasus Pipeline Project (SCP), which supplies natural gas from the Shah Deniz field to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
Officials also underlined Georgia’s favorable investment environment and its role as a regional transit hub. Both sides expressed interest in strengthening and expanding the partnership between Georgia and BP.
The meeting was also attended by Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of GD Government Administration.
