Beka Peradze, the head of the Labor Inspection Department told BM.GE, that the Department cannot interfere in the renting of private apartments despite that operating of hotels is prohibited. Peradze explains that the state has no right to enter into a legal relationship with the apartment holders.
The point was that the representatives of the tourism sector noted, that Labor Inspectors warned the apartment holders not to rent the apartments.
“We only checked the hotels. We cannot interfere in the renting of a private apartment. We do not have any leverage. We act in coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and nothing like that happened. We held inspections in Bakuriani and Borjomi ”, Beka Peradze declares.
The ropeways are shut down and operating of hotels is prohibited amid pandemic in the mountain resorts.
