Issues of diversifying the export markets of Armenian wine are being discussed

The Minister of Economy of Armenia held a meeting with the NGO "Wines of Armenia" to discuss the development of the winemaking industry.

According to the press service of the ministry, the meeting presented the activities and main goals of the "Wines of Armenia" NGO. The parties discussed steps aimed at stimulating the export of wine produced by the organization's members, as well as planned joint events.

During the discussion, current problems existing in the sphere of viticulture and winemaking in Armenia were identified, and possible ways to address them were outlined.

Issues related to diversifying alternative export markets, utilizing tools of state support, as well as preserving Armenian grape varieties and other topics concerning industry development were also discussed.

This meeting reflects the desire for cooperation between government agencies and the entrepreneurial community to support and develop Armenia's winemaking industry.

BMG reminds that according to data published by the Statistical Committee, in 2023, Armenia produced 14,124.7 thousand liters of wine, including 1,601.4 thousand liters of sparkling wine "Champagne" type. Compared to the 2022 figure, the volume of wine production increased by 11.7%, and the production of sparkling wines increased by 13.3%.
