Aleksandre Ratishvili, head of Taxpayers Union of Georgia evaluated Georgian Prime Minister’s initiative about the 10-Year Development Plan.
The Government of Georgia announced setting up a new Interagency Council for Development and Reform, tasked with drawing up a ten-year development plan for the country within 100 days.
Early this month, the PM also said, that the Interagency Council for Development and Reform must submit the document in May.
“I don't feel enthusiastic towards this plan and this is not my fault, because several governments have changed in Georgia during these decades and we have heard some similar statement from all the governments. Some had a ten-year plan, others - a 25-year plan or a 4-point plan… Now a 10-year plan is announced. The events are changed so rapidly worldwide, including in Georgia, it is better to plan the day after tomorrow than have a 10-year development plan.
I do not hope that this 10-year plan will have serious results, but it is also obvious that the country will not be able to develop without such strategic planning," said Alexander Ratishvili.
