The visit of the delegation of high-ranking political representatives from the European Union, the United States and Great Britain and the thanks given to Georgia are a confirmation that we are closely and effectively cooperating with our partners, - Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili said while commenting on the positive assessments made by the US, EU and UK sanctions officials.
According to Levan Davitashvili, the guests once again confirmed the right steps taken by the government of Georgia with their positive evaluations.
"What we expected has been confirmed by our guests. They recognized, specifically evaluated and made clear statements about the partnership that Georgia has with its strategic partners, and as a result, we heard only words of gratitude. Georgia is an important ally of the partners. You know that we have a direct border with Russia and close cooperation with Georgia in this regard is important for our partners", Levan Davitashvili said.
According to him, in the light of these positive evaluations, the statements of the opposition only show that the opposition has a clear goal of destabilizing the country, hindering the country's success, and these positions were also highlighted in relation to the visit of the high-ranking delegation.
"Once again it was made clear that the opposition is not happy with the country's success and progress. The positive evaluations we heard from our partners were painful for the opposition," said Levan Davitashvili.
According to the Minister, a very detailed work process was carried out for two days with the members of the delegation, to whom various state agencies shared detailed information on how to reduce the risks of circumvention of sanctions, the process of enforcement of sanctions in general, and how close and important cooperation we have with our partners in this process - with the European Union, the USA and Great Britain.
He added that information is periodically shared and exchanged with partners, including in terms of increasing competence, which implies employee training.
