In January 2025, exports from Georgia to Italy increased by 160%. More specifically, this year Georgia sold products worth USD 6.8 million to the South European state, while the figure stood at USD 2.6 million in the same period last year.
The growth mainly comes from the first two commodity groups. Pipe exports increased by almost 85%, while hazelnuts increased by 95%.
According to the National Statistics Office, here is the list of TOP-5 exported local products:
1. Black metal pipes - $2.4 million;
2. Hazelnuts - $1.7 million;
3. Mineral or chemical, nitrogen fertilizers - $1.7 million;
4. Ferroalloys - $399.1 thousand;
5. Mixed wood plywood and panels - $165.4 thousand.
Imports from Italy amounted to 22.2 million USD, which was 26% less than the same reporting period last year. It's noteworthy that in the reporting period of last year, Georgia bought passenger cars worth USD 2.2 million from Italy, while this year, only 251.3 cars.
In January, Georgia purchased the following 5 commodity groups from Italy:

2. Furniture - $775.7 thousand;
3. Ceramic tiles - $681.1 thousand;
4. Coffee - $652.7 thousand;
5. Central heating boilers - $642.9 thousand.
