The Georgian Dream party’s honorary chairman Bidzina Ivanishvili has cast his vote. After voting, he did not respond to journalists’ questions and made only a brief statement.
“Today is yet another important day in our country’s recent history — a day of free elections, which have been consistently held in Georgia in recent years. Today’s election is one of those significant and interesting moments.
Georgian Dream has given Georgian society the opportunity to make a free choice — just as we have established freedom of speech, free enterprise, and free living over the past years. It has been 13 years since Georgian Dream came to power. Together with the public, we have achieved remarkable success in every direction. But our greatest accomplishment is that both our party members and society as a whole have learned to make objective and critical analyses. Our citizens can now clearly distinguish between right and wrong. We have achieved impressive progress in all fields,” Ivanishvili said.
He expressed hope that citizens would turn out in an organized manner and make the right choice at the polls.
“The development of civil society, which our people have managed to achieve, is reflected in the ability to take power into their own hands through making the right electoral choices. This is what has brought us the results we see today — remarkable achievements in every direction.
No matter what statements our opponents make, if they are not objective, the Georgian public usually does not react to them. This is society’s greatest achievement — that it has learned to distinguish truth from falsehood. I hope our citizens will once again be active today, go to the polls in an organized manner, and make the right choice,” Ivanishvili stated.
