Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced that a grand amusement park will be built in the city’s Dendrological Park, with a significant financial contribution from Bidzina Ivanishvili’s family and the “Cartu” foundation. The project, which aims to create the largest amusement park in the region, will follow international examples such as Disneyland, Legoland, and Universal Studios.
The mayor explained that the initiative began with the relocation of the old city zoo to the Tbilisi Sea area in 2017, a move necessary to meet modern standards for both animals and visitors. The zoo now borders the dendrological park, laying the groundwork for the development of a large-scale recreational zone.
The amusement park will include multiple zones with attractions for children, families, and thrill-seekers, as well as shops, food outlets, relaxation areas, and a celebration center. Special emphasis will be placed on safety, greenery, and the preservation of existing vegetation, while additional landscaping and infrastructure work will be carried out.
Kaladze highlighted that the project will attract not only local visitors but also tourists from neighboring countries and beyond. He thanked Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family for their ongoing support of city projects and emphasized that, with the backing of financial organizations and the central government, Tbilisi will continue to develop into a modern, green, and diverse urban space for all ages.
