Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze says Georgia’s current economic growth indicates that the country is heading in the right direction. He made the statement while opening the 16th Tbilisi Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, organized by the city’s Economic Development Service.
Kaladze welcomed participants from government, parliament, academia, and international organizations, including foreign experts and diplomats, noting the importance of Tbilisi as a platform for regional dialogue and cooperation. He highlighted that the forum focuses on “sustainable development for socio-economic well-being.”
According to the mayor, sustainable development is not limited to economic indicators, but also includes improved living standards, infrastructure, job creation, and investment attraction. He said Georgia’s growth figures provide confidence in the country’s chosen development path.
The forum brings together representatives from around 20 countries and includes high-level panel discussions on economic, social, environmental, and geopolitical issues, continuing a tradition established in 2007 as part of the Local Economic Development initiative.
